LV Rescue Course
My First Aid Course is proud to offer a comprehensive LVR/CPR course in Brisbane for those in the electrical industry. The CPR/LVR certificate meets electrical licence requirements and equips electrical workers who may find themselves in potentially dangerous situations involving live low voltage panels and electrical emergencies.
Our course covers the practical skills needed to perform rescue procedures in emergency situations, as well as risk management processes and safety practices for the prevention of injury.
You may have attended LVR/CPR courses before that were long and drawn out, wasting your valuable time off the tools.
Our LVR/CPR Brisbane course is delivered on behalf of Registered Training Organisation Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909) and covers a range of situations involving live work, including low voltage (LV) panel rescue procedures, providing basic life support (including cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and both theory and practical skill assessment activities.
LV Rescue Course Information
Upon completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the units:
(Also known as an LVR and CPR certificate).
Our LVR trainers have years of experience in the electrical industry and understand the importance of proper risk assessment in electrically hazardous situations. We offer both public courses and onsite group training, which include the use of our low voltage rescue kit and live LV panel for hands-on training.
For those who have already completed the LVR course, we offer a refresher course to ensure participants maintain their skills and stay up to date with the latest safety practices and guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
At My First Aid Course, we are committed to providing the best possible training experience for all first aid courses. That’s why we offer free onsite parking and online learning materials to support our streamlined short course format.

A digital copy will be available to download from your learner dashboard, usually within 24 hours.
This is dependent on participants successfully completing their online training. If not, the certificate will be delayed until this is done. Fridays and weekends may also affect the speed at which a certificate is issued.
If a hard copy of the certificate is required, this must be requested in advance. An additional $5 fee will apply. Please note that hard copies can take up to 30 business days to arrive (based on Australia Post).
COURSE CONTENT
Low voltage rescue comprises responsive operations that involve saving a life or preventing injury during an incident or dangerous situation.
LV RESCUE & CPR TOPICS COVERED:
• CPR for babies and children
• Safety issues at home and at work
• Unconscious casualty
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• First aid principles
• First aid hygiene and infectious diseases
• Using a defibrillator or AED unit
• What to do in an emergency, calling for help
• Performing rescue procedures from a live low voltage (LV) apparatus (not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace)
• Mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel, and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution, or rail work functions
• Responsibilities for health, safety, and risk management processes at all operative levels, and adherence to safety practices as part of standard work procedures
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This unit of competency has no prerequisites in order to enrol and is suitable for those with no prior skills or knowledge in first aid.
All participants will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to enrol in this course. A USI can be obtained for free at usi.gov.au.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This course requires that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.
ONLINE REQUIREMENTS
All participants are required to complete online pre-course learning before attending the practical session. To do so, you will need a desktop or mobile device with internet access.
All format options for this course incorporate pre-course online learning, including:
• EXPRESS PRACTICAL FORMAT – Comprehensive video-based online learning and theory assessment prior to attendance
• FACE-TO-FACE FORMAT – Short online learning to cover basics prior to attendance
Once booked, you will receive an email with details of your chosen assessment location and time. Simply complete the video-based online training on your chosen device at your convenience.
Remember:
1. Your online learning must be completed before attending your practical assessment.
2. All modules will become green when this is finished
3. To ensure you are fully prepared and confident for the practical assessment, we recommend rewatching the assessable topics carefully just prior to attending.

ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
Performance tasks and practical scenarios:
• Perform CPR on an adult (including the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
• Inspect and place rescue equipment, and perform a rescue
• Perform a rescue from a low voltage (LV) panel
Theory assessment includes a written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.
