Doing a first aid course as a teenager is valuable and can make a real difference in emergencies. Whether it’s at school, during sports, or out with friends, having the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively can save lives. In fact, we think every teenager should learn it.
At First Aid Course Brisbane, we offer courses teenagers can join, providing them with the essential skills they need to assist in emergencies.
My Story

When I was a teenager, a bushwalking trip at Mt White Rock in Gatton with a friend took a dangerous turn. A rock became dislodged and struck him in the head, causing a serious skull injury. None of us knew what to do, and it was a terrifying experience.Â
Afterwards my folks sat me down, and we booked in a first aid course, and let me tell you it has proved to be worth it!
Everything from dealing with sports injuries, to helping Grandma when she tore open her food on a walker, it’s been a lifesaver and a great way to help people.
How old must you be to Enrol in a First Aid Course?

At First Aid Course Brisbane, teenagers as young as 10 can participate in our first aid courses, provided they are mature enough to handle the course material and practical components.
While there is no strict minimum age, trainers must assess each student’s ability to understand and apply the skills taught in the course. That can mean while they may be able to enrol, some may only receive a statement of participation rather than a certificate depending on how they handle the course.
Since topics such as CPR and emergency response include discussions about serious injuries and even death, we recommend that parents consider attending alongside younger students to support their learning. Whether you are 13, 14, 15, or even older, now is the perfect time to gain these essential skills.
And of course,
