Childcare First Aid Course
This course will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children, and adults. It applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Childcare First Aid Course Information
You’re in a room full of curious little humans, and suddenly – bam! An accident happens. What do you do? The HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting course can help. This childcare first aid training is your golden ticket to mastering life-saving skills tailored specifically for childcare workers, teachers, and anyone else living in the wonderfully chaotic world of early childhood care and teaching.
Whether it’s handling bumps, bruises, or bigger emergencies, completing a childcare first aid course equips you with everything you need to confidently tackle the unexpected.
You’ll learn how to assess and manage situations like choking, asthma, allergic reactions (hello, anaphylaxis), and even CPR for infants and children. And it doesn’t stop there—this course gets hands-on with wound care, treating burns, and handling fractures like a pro. Got an AED nearby? No problem — you’ll learn how to use it.
All of this is done following the tried-and-true DRSABCD action plan, ensuring that your response is calm, collected, and, above all, effective. The course also dives into the unique challenges of providing first aid in environments buzzing with tiny humans, helping you feel ready for anything.
Whether you’re a childcare educator, early childhood professional, or a teacher managing a bustling classroom, this childcare first aid course has your back. It’s not only about meeting the requirements of the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC), but also about helping you grow confident in supporting the kiddos you care about most.
Training and assessment are delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909. You can find the Student Handbook by clicking here.
