Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a First Aid Trainer?

To become a First Aid Trainer in Australia, you’ll need the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (this is the latest version, replacing TAE40116). You’ll also need first aid industry experience to show your skills are current and relevant. A background in healthcare, emergency services, or related fields is helpful but not essential.

Do I need previous training experience?

Not necessarily! We’re happy to work with and guide trainers who are new to the industry, especially if you have prior healthcare or first aid experience. If you’re confident, eager to learn, and great with people, we’ll help you develop into an excellent trainer.

What’s it like working as a First Aid Trainer?

It’s fun, engaging, and rewarding! You’ll meet new people every day, teaching life-saving skills in an interactive and hands-on way. While every day is different, we also foster a warm, supportive team environment—so you’re never left figuring things out alone.

Can I choose my own work schedule?

We work with you to set a schedule that aligns with both your availability and our training needs. While we offer some flexibility, trainers need to commit to set days and be available as required.

Do I need my own training equipment?

No, we provide all the necessary training materials. However, if you own CPR manikins, training defibrillators, or other equipment, that’s a big bonus and can help with additional opportunities.
