QUALIFICATION
Successful completion of these assessments will earn you a certificate in HLTWHS005 – Conduct Manual Tasks Safely. This certificate does not require renewal.
A digital PDF certificate will be issued via email, usually within 24 hours after course completion. Additional digital copies can be obtained at any time through the student learning portal created at enrolment.
COURSE CONTENT
1. Teach participants to identify potentially hazardous manual tasks and assess the sources and risk factors involved.
2. Impart the knowledge and skills required to prepare for and control manual handling tasks, employing safe work practices.
3. Enhance understanding of the body’s function during movement and manual tasks, the significance of correct posture, and body positioning.
4. Educate participants on recognising injury symptoms and efficient reporting procedures.
All course content and training adhere strictly to Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand Standards, and industry codes of practice.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Participants must possess the physical ability to use appropriate equipment and demonstrate safe posture and handling techniques during manual tasks.
Depending on the course delivery mode, students may need to complete online pre-course work before attending the face-to-face session.

– Manual Handling Task: Horizontal movement (based on the student’s workplace environment and/or job role)
– Manual Handling Task: High-to-low movement (based on the student’s workplace environment and/or job role)
– Manual Handling Task: Low-to-high movement (based on the student’s workplace environment and/or job role)
– Documentation: Completion of a Risk Assessment form and an Incident Report form
Theory Assessment:
A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions.
