Mental Health First Aid Course
This course is uniquely tailored to provide comprehensive education on mental health, build resilience, and offer practical strategies for managing the psychological impacts of crisis response.
This course has a first responder focus but is suitable for anyone who wants to better understand mental health challenges and learn how to offer meaningful support.
What does it mean to be a first responder?
While the term is often associated with professionals trained to deal with emergencies—such as paramedics, police, or firefighters—the reality is that anyone can be a first responder. In many situations, it’s an everyday bystander—someone like you or me—who provides the first moments of support before emergency services arrive.

Mental Health First Aid Course Information
Not only is this course nationally recognised, but it also offers a concise and practical solution for individuals looking to understand the fundamentals of mental health or enhance their support skills.
Its streamlined format saves valuable time—allowing you to gain essential knowledge and tools without a significant time commitment.
You will learn to recognise signs and symptoms of mental health concerns and respond effectively, providing crucial support until professional help is available.

Online vs Face to Face Courses; What’s the difference?
Both of these options are Nationally Recognised delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909
1. FACE TO FACE
This is of course the more traditional familiar method of completing a First Aid course. Learning Face to Face with a trainer delivered over a short day. This course still differs a little in that it requires a small amount of video content to be completed (timing of this varies depending upon the course and the person doing it) prior to attending the day’s course. By participants preparing for the course by completing this pre-course short at home component, we have been able to condense the days training and these face to face courses are more time efficient than a traditional Face to Face course.
2. ENHANCED ONLINE LEARNING (with ASSESSMENT-ONLY PRACTICAL)
Participants spend a longer period of time completing training at home in their own time prior to attending a short assessment with a trainer. Assessment lengths for these are reflected on the booking calendar and can vary from 40 minutes to 6 hours depending on your course. The online training consists of watching simple video modules that you can pause, re-watch and take notes if you require. Many have found this very helpful and a convenient way to complete a course. A short online multiple choice assessment also follows.
Please click the course type icon on our website home page to select the course you require or select the same from the drop down menu at the top of the page. You can view course and assessment availability by hitting the “BOOK NOW” button to bring up the calendar with available courses and dates. Once you have decided and made your selection, you will be prompted for payment. On successful transaction you will be forwarded access to your pre-course/video links via Allens Training RTO 90909 (of whom we are a training partner).
