Occupational First Aid Skill Set
This course is appropriate for individuals who are currently employed in—or intending to become employed in—nominated occupational first aider roles. It is delivered in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, relevant state and territory Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulatory requirements, safe work practices, and the First Aid Code of Practice.
Training is delivered at our centres in Albion, Capalaba, and Deagon, or can be conducted onsite at your workplace.

Occupational First Aid Skill Set Course Information
This course provides simulated real-life scenarios to develop the skills required to deliver advanced first aid, oxygen therapy, advanced resuscitation, ongoing monitoring and care after treatment, casualty handover to emergency services, and incident debriefing or evaluation. It also addresses individual needs by recognising psychological impacts and encouraging participants to seek help as required.
Participants will learn how to develop and maintain first aid action plans in consultation with relevant parties, conduct risk assessments to establish and maintain appropriate first aid in the workplace, and follow manufacturer instructions. They will also complete documentation such as checklists for stocking and maintaining resuscitation equipment, oxygen therapy gear, and first aid kits.
This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909) by My First Aid Course Brisbane. You can find the Student Handbook by clicking here.

Online vs Face to Face Courses; What’s the difference?
Both of these options are Nationally Recognised delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909
1. FACE TO FACE
This is of course the more traditional familiar method of completing a First Aid course. Learning Face to Face with a trainer delivered over a short day. This course still differs a little in that it requires a small amount of video content to be completed (timing of this varies depending upon the course and the person doing it) prior to attending the day’s course. By participants preparing for the course by completing this pre-course short at home component, we have been able to condense the days training and these face to face courses are more time efficient than a traditional Face to Face course.
2. ENHANCED ONLINE LEARNING (with ASSESSMENT-ONLY PRACTICAL)
Participants spend a longer period of time completing training at home in their own time prior to attending a short assessment with a trainer. Assessment lengths for these are reflected on the booking calendar and can vary from 40 minutes to 6 hours depending on your course. The online training consists of watching simple video modules that you can pause, re-watch and take notes if you require. Many have found this very helpful and a convenient way to complete a course. A short online multiple choice assessment also follows.
Please click the course type icon on our website home page to select the course you require or select the same from the drop down menu at the top of the page. You can view course and assessment availability by hitting the “BOOK NOW” button to bring up the calendar with available courses and dates. Once you have decided and made your selection, you will be prompted for payment. On successful transaction you will be forwarded access to your pre-course/video links via Allens Training RTO 90909 (of whom we are a training partner).
